What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a professional and confidential form of talk therapy that helps people explore and understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Through a collaborative process, psychotherapy offers a safe and supportive space to work through difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or personal challenges. The aim is not only to relieve distress but also to promote deeper self-awareness, personal growth, and lasting change. Sessions are paced to suit each individual, allowing you to gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a structured therapy designed to help people recover from traumatic events, distressing memories, or anxiety. It works by helping the brain reprocess difficult experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming in the present.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a practical, evidence-based therapy that focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are linked. It helps clients identify unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping, especially for anxiety, depression, phobias, and low self-esteem.
Therapy for Teenagers including EMDR
Young people can face difficulties such as anxiety, low confidence, family changes, or bereavement. I provide a safe and supportive environment where they can explore feelings, build resilience, and develop healthier coping skills.
Adolescents can also benefit from EMDR when dealing with trauma, anxiety, bullying, phobias, or other challenges. Sessions are adapted to be age-appropriate, supportive, and paced to ensure the young person feels safe and understood.
Online Therapy Sessions
I offer secure, confidential therapy sessions online, making support accessible wherever you are. Online therapy can be a good option if you prefer the comfort of your own space, have mobility issues, or live outside Kerry.
